The Damon System braces are available with Orthodontist Dr. Alain Chaumont
The Damon Orthodontic System allow for reduced treatment time by up to 4 to 6 months compared to traditional braces. Its technology enables the use of discrete slides that replace the ligatures and elastics. This system significantly reduces the number of adjustments necessary as well as the discomfort experienced by the patient.
What is the Damon System?
The Damon System is a type of orthodontic treatment consisting of self ligating brackets that produce less friction. The brackets look similar to those used in traditional braces - they are also glued on the front of each tooth. However, they operate with a sliding mechanism using lighter wires and do not use ligature elastics.
The teeth move easily with a very light but consistent level of force applied to them. This avoids trauma in the long run. This mechanism also takes the aesthetics of the face into account and allows for a wider smile and improved profile.
Advantages of the Damon System
The Damon System helps correct several types of frequent malocclusions and includes the following advantages:
- greater comfort for the patient
- reduced treatment time
- fewer visits to the orthodontist
- reduced need for tooth extractions
- improved facial appearance and profile
- better dental hygiene due to the bracket design
With the Damon System, the teeth align more comfortably while respecting the physiology of each patient. Moreover, the biocompatible forces generated by this system have a positive influence on the bones, the periodontium (gums) and the muscular environment.
